I am a 49 year old with end stage renal disease caused by diabetes. I have been on peritoneal dialysis and on the waiting list for 2 1/2 years. My brother volunteered to donate a kidney, but was turned down by Buffalo General. My other brother and sister also have diabetes and can't donate. Being on dialysis stinks, but you have to do what you have to do. So far, I've been able to stay on the job ( working in a grade school) but it gets harder and harder. I am an A+ blood type. Donating a kidney can't be an easy decision (not sure I'd be able to do it for a stranger), but it's the right decision. Thank you |
