My husband Ronnie Wood has been on dialysis for the past three years. We have been married since 1970 and have a daughter and two sons. We also have six grandchildren and a great-grandchild on the way.

I was tested to donate, and so were other family members and friends from our church, Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Buffalo. Unfortunately, no one has been able to donate. When our daughter-in-law volunteered to be tested, she told us, "I want our children to have their grandfather as long as possible." This touched us so much, as did the great support we continue to receive from our church.

Ronnie grew up in Buffalo and attended PS#48, PS#37 and Emerson Vocational High School. He was in the US Navy from 1966 - 1970. He was stationed on the USS Little Rock, which is now moored at the Naval Park in Buffalo. Ronnie worked in sales and then opened a restaurant before he became ill with kidney failure.

Ronnie has been an ameteur radio enthusiast as a HAM Operator and with a CB radio since the age of 14. He loved talking with people all over the world and wants to start doing this again. Right now it is too difficult for him to navigate the stairs to get to his equipment because of his health.

Thank you for reading his profile and considering becoming a living donor.

He is listed at ECMC and his transplant coordinator is Lisa Venuto. The number for the Transplant Center is 716-898-4530.
