My name is Marguerite and I have lived in Buffalo almost all my life after being raised in Harlem, NY. I have two sons and two daughters and eight grandchildren. I am active in my church True Bethel Baptist Church in Buffalo where Darius Pridgen is our pastor. It is there that I started a ministry called the Chosen Few that helps people recover from drug and alcohol abuse. I am a community activist and it is my life's work to speak for the less fortunate.

Since my kidneys failed I have done hemodialysis and CAPD. The hemo was very hard on my body and I couldn't tolerate it. The CAPD is a system that I do myself and it is better for me. I have to be very disciplined and careful, because I must do a dialysis "exhcange" four times every day no matter what is happening in my life.

Being fortunate enough to receive a new kidney would be an unbelievable blessing for me. I want to continue doing the work I love and I want to see my grandchildren grow up.
