My name is Beatrice and I live in Buffalo, NY. I have two children, ages 24 and 26. They did not have grandparents growing up, and that makes me determined to live to see my grandchildren some day.

I love children. Everyone in my neighborhood calls me "Auntie Susie" because I love kids so much. I always find a few and take them to the Fair each year. This year I will need a scooter to get around, but I will do it.

I have worked for many years as a cook. I worked all over Buffalo, including at Salvatore's and Dave and Busters. I went to school for art but found out that I loved to cook and made that my life. Just this year my kidney disease has made it too hard for me to work. I miss it so much that I still volunteer as a cook at the neighborhood church food pantry.

I have not started dialysis yet but I am on the waiting list for a kidney because they are barely working. My daughter volunteered to be my donor, but we found out that she has another medical problem and needs surgery for that.
